# Bio

Andrey Satarin is a Staff Site Reliability Engineer at Google, where he leads the SRE team for Google Distributed Cloud, focusing on reliability, scalability, and security. Before that, he spent five years on Google’s petabyte-scale query and database systems, F1 Query and F1 DB.

Earlier in his career, Andrey worked on Amazon Aurora at AWS, YDB (a distributed SQL database) at Yandex, the Astraea cloud malware detection system at Kaspersky Lab, an online multiplayer game at Mail.ru, and a low-latency foreign exchange pricing service at Deutsche Bank.

Andrey is active in the distributed systems community. He served on the program committee of the Hydra conference. He is interested in large-scale distributed databases, data processing, and the reliability and correctness of backend systems.
